Why Wearables Need Direct Autonomic Intelligence

HRV was a useful proxy for stress and recovery, but it is not a measure of autonomic function. HRV cannot separate sympathetic and parasympathetic activity, and it breaks down in chronic illness. CloudANS solves this.

HRV Limitations

  • HRV is indirect. HF does not equal parasympathetic activity and LF does not equal sympathetic activity.
  • HRV requires controlled breathing and stable environments.
  • HRV collapses in Long COVID, POTS, autoimmune disease, anxiety, perimenopause, and chronic fatigue despite major autonomic dysfunction.
  • HRV cannot perform root-cause analysis because it cannot isolate autonomic branches.
